If your hard disk gets failed
If you get a message indicating that no fixed disk is present that can be caused by a number of things, so it is often an indication of disk failure. To verify the status of your hard drive, you have to restart the system and press F2 key during startup.
Once the setup utility screen appears on the display, then go to the diagnostic menu and launch a test on the drive. If it shows any physical errors then you have to replace it immediately.
